MMC2009 saw a group of 30 guys from (or associated with) BBC attend the conference. Our bunch comprised a number of “first timers” as well as some attending MMC for their second and third time. We had five young men from Kid’s Haven, as well as an overseas visitor (Mark, from the UK).

MMC 2009 was held from Friday April 24th to Sunday 26th; but with Wednesday 22nd being declared a public holiday (national elections), and Monday 27th being a public holiday (Freedom Day), many folk took the Thursday (23rd) and Friday (24th) off work, to make an extended long weekend over which to make the most of MMC09. For us this meant an advance group was able to trek down to Shalom on the Wednesday to secure a camp area, erect our marquee tent and establish camp – much to
the relief of those arriving on Thursday and Friday – again, a special vote of thanks to Jannie and his team for doing this!
